What can we contribute in our villages to create a future fit for the grandchildren?
What approaches could work and what does it take?
Recently a local rural initiative in Brandenburg, East Germany opened up these questions – the Netzwerk lebendige Dörfer (Network of living villages). This organisation of rural communities is part of ERCA
(European Rural Community Alliance), and fosters active citizenship for supporting the
villages on their way into the future. Information, education and knowledge play a key role in
this, aiming at strengthening people in their local commitment.
YouStandOut is seeking such partners on rural grounds to make the “voices of the villages” heard again and “living
villages” become visible. Our upcoming IdeationLabs will be a next step together in this
direction.
